Terms of service
These terms are the agreement between you and Konnecturs LDA (NIPC 518700470), a company established in Portugal, trading as Shortlist, when you buy or use this site. They are written to be read, so they are shorter and plainer than they could be. If anything here is unclear, ask at hello@uni-shortlist.com before you buy.
What you are buying
We research the universities you name and publish the result to a dashboard that is yours for your application cycle. You pick a plan sized to your list, paid once as a single payment: Basic researches 3 universities for €29; Plus researches 6 universities for €59; Pro researches 10 universities for €99. Plus also includes one re-research of a university; Pro includes that plus the scholarship & funding deep-dive and the admissions test briefing. More universities can be added to any plan at the add-on price below.
Whatever the size, every plan covers the same things for each university on your list: its application deadlines and admissions tests, its published entry requirements evaluated against your own grades, honest cost estimates, and a calendar you can work through. Every plan also includes deadline corrections for the whole cycle — if a date we gave you turns out to be wrong or changes, we fix it and tell you, at no further cost, for as long as your cycle runs.
Add-ons
Bought separately, one-time each, and fulfilled the same way:
- Add a university — €15. One more university researched to the same depth as the rest — deadlines, entry requirements against your grades, tests, and costs.
- Re-research a university — €15. A full re-check of one university you already have — useful when a course changes its requirements, or when your grades have moved since we wrote it.
- Scholarship & funding deep-dive — €25. Scholarships, bursaries and fee waivers you're actually eligible for at one university, with deadlines and what each one asks for.
- Admissions test briefing — €10. Every admissions test on your list — dates, registration deadlines, format, and official practice material, in one brief.
- Accommodation deep-dive — €15. Halls versus renting for one city — real costs, application deadlines, and how early you need to act.
- Visa & paperwork checklist — €15. What your student visa needs for one country — documents, fees, timelines, and the official links to each step.
What this is not
This is researched information, not advice. Shortlist is not a careers service, an admissions consultancy, an agent, or a counsellor. Nobody here writes your personal statement, contacts a university on your behalf, or tells you where to apply.
In particular: the dashboard tells you whether your grades meet a university's publishedminimum. Meeting it is not an offer, a prediction, or a probability of admission. Universities reject applicants who clear their published bar every year, for reasons — personal statements, interviews, tests, competition for a course, changes in policy — that no published requirement captures. Where a place is described as a reach or a formality, that is one person's honest read of the evidence, and you should treat it as exactly that.
Your application is your responsibility.Always check any date or requirement that matters against the university's own website before you rely on it. We link our sources so you can.
What we promise about accuracy
Every fact on your dashboard is researched from the university's own published material, dated, and marked “confirmed” or “estimated” so you can see which is which. Where a university does not publish a minimum, the dashboard says so rather than inventing one, and where a published requirement cannot be checked against your subjects it is reported as unchecked rather than counted against you.
We correct deadlines all cycle, as above. We do not promise the research is complete or error-free, because universities change things without notice and sometimes publish contradictory information. If you find something wrong, tell us and we will fix it for you and for everyone else tracking that university.
Your side of it
- Give us accurate grades. The whole dashboard is computed from them, so a mistyped grade produces a confidently wrong answer. You can correct them yourself at any time.
- Your account is yours alone. Do not share your sign-in link or let someone else use your dashboard.
- The research is for your own application. Do not republish, resell, or scrape it, and do not use it to build a competing product.
- If you are under 18, a parent or guardian buys it and agrees to these terms on your behalf.
Refunds and cancellation
Before research starts, a full refund, no questions. Email us and you get everything back.
Once your dashboard is published, the work you paid for has been done and it is not refundable. In between — research started but not published — we refund the part not yet worked.
Separately from the above, you have a statutory right to cancel a service bought online within 14 days. If you ask us to begin research inside those 14 days and we do, you can still cancel, but we may keep an amount proportionate to the work already done; once the research is fully delivered within that window at your request, the right to cancel is spent. Nothing in these terms removes a right the law gives you as a consumer.
If we cannot research a university you asked for — some do not publish enough to research honestly — we will tell you and refund that portion rather than deliver something thin.
Availability
This is a small operation run by one person. Research is normally published within 48 hours and we say so, but that is a target rather than a guarantee, and it can slip during results season. The site itself may go down for maintenance or because something upstream breaks. If we ever have to stop running Shortlist entirely, we will give you notice, let you export what is yours, and refund anything bought but not delivered.
If something goes wrong
We are responsible for getting you what you paid for, and for our own negligence. We are not responsible for what you decide to do with the information — an application you did not send, a deadline you did not check against the university's own site, or a place you did not get. Except where the law does not allow it to be limited, our total liability is capped at what you paid us. Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
Ending it
You can delete your account at any time by emailing us; see the privacy policy for what happens to your data. We may suspend an account that is sharing, reselling or scraping the research, and in that case we do not refund.
Changes to these terms
If we change them in a way that affects what you have already bought, we will email you. Otherwise the version on this page at the time you bought is the one that governs your purchase, and the date at the top tells you when it last changed.
Complaints and disputes
Tell us first — hello@uni-shortlist.com reaches the one person who can actually fix it, and most things are a mistake rather than a dispute.
If that does not resolve it, you can record a complaint in our electronic complaints book at livroreclamacoes.pt. As a consumer you may also refer a dispute to an alternative dispute resolution body without going to court; if you ask us, we will tell you which body covers a purchase like yours.
Law
These terms are governed by Portuguese law, and the Portuguese courts have jurisdiction over any dispute. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere, this does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory consumer law where you live, or of the right to bring a claim in your own country's courts.
